Heidi-

I agree with you whole heartedly. And it isn't just gramatical mistakes, I have yet to find a science article in a newspaper that does not have at least one major error and I mean bad, misinforming error, usually quite easily avoided if the "journalist" actually took the time to check. My favorite one being from several years ago: the press release stated that a planet was found around a star and the star was visible to the naked eye; the newspaper article state that a planet was found around a star and the planet was visible to the naked eye. Well, gee, if the planet was visible to the naked eye why had it taken astronomers so many years to find planets outside of our solar system! With reporting of this quality how can one expect any of the news in a newspaper to be accurate.

I must admit, I am uninformed. I do not read the newspaper every day.

What ever happened to the professional journalist?

I open a newspaper only to find tons of mistakes, particularly
grammatical ones.
