The Adler Planetarium & Astronomy Museum, Chicago, IL, is seeking a
Computer Artist/Animator for the production area of the Education and
Technology Department.  This position reports to the Manager of Sky Show
Production.

Duties include creating computer models and terrains for the
StarRider/Digistar productions and for the Zeiss Theater productions and
show sales kits; creating fly-through programming, storyboard development
for theater productions; video graphic production and editing; and
performing selected Zeiss and/or StarRider shows.

A college degree or technical degree in computer art or the equivalent is
required.  In addition, a certificate in video production is preferred.
Demonstrated experience creating 3D models and animations using a wide
variety of software packages such as MultiGen, 3DStudioMax, Electric
Image, or their equivalent, is also required.  Demonstrated experience
producing/editing videotapes, knowledge of Unix and computer programming
experience is preferred.

The beginning salary for this position is $32,202 a year.
