The Westport (Washington) Maritime Museum has an internship available
immediately.  The intern will serve as Education Curator, planning and
conducting programs for K-12 and adult audiences at the Maritime Museum and
at nearby Grays Harbor Lighthouse.  The intern will also recruit, train, and
supervise volunteers conducting education programs.

The internship is available through the Washington Service Corps, an
Americorps program.  Washington Service Corps requires that interns be
between the ages of 18 and 24, U.S. citizens, and physically present in the
State of Washington on the day of hire.  The internship will last eleven
months.  A monthly stipend of $700 is providedd as are medical benefits and,
for those qualifying, child care subsidy.  Upon successful completion of
eleven months' internship, an intern qualifies for a $4725 educational award.
