Christine,
I was an undergrad at Beloit College (Beloit, WI), and worked at the museums,
when they did major renovations to the Logan Museum of Anthropology that is
located on campus. They installed fiber optic lighting for the main display
area on the first floor. The source of the fiber optic lighting was in the
basement though. I do not know the details involved with the lighting itself
other than that no UV or heat was to be generated by the lighting. Perhaps
you can contact Beloit and they could tell you more about their fiber optics!
Hope this helps! Information at Beloit is 608-363-2000 and Tom Wilson is the
Director of the 2 museums there. Unfortunately I do not know any email
addresses for the museum staff. I do believe that Beloit has a web page and
perhaps there are addresses on it.
Sincerely,
Ginger M. Young, Registrar
