Actually Alex just described Alaska (see below).  Jack Lufkin wants to
know what this discussion has to do with museums.  I'm not certain that,
as interesting as it has been, that it does, and I'm not certain what
the tally is so far on which country is less understanding of or better
than the other.  But as we run this discussion into the ground, I'll say
that as I travel through Yukon Territory and British Columbia getting to
one side of Alaska to the other and from Alaska to the "lower 48", I
meet exceptionally friendly, helpful and interesting people among the
jerks; very similar to what I find in the U.S.  And for myself, I say,
"Viva la difference!"  I find a great benefit from the input of those
who write to this list, even from Austria.  We're all in this (caring
for our museums and the collections they house) together.  Right?
