We owe John Chadwick a HUGE thanks for the
work that he has done in keeping museum-L
running and to L-Soft International
(http://www.lsoft.com) for the software tool
and list hosting service that keeps us running.

On behalf of the list's 2,440 subscribers,
I would like to applaud John for his efforts.

In consideration of the number of users,
PLEASE do not overwhelm either the list or
ANY individual mailbox with personal thanks.
Let this note stand a thank you card signed
by us all.

As he has made his transition to his new
position, I've been helping him with some of
the museum-L management, and will continue to do
so in the future. Other people, including David
Bridge and Anita Cohen Williams, have also been
important in supporting the operation of the list.

There is a fair amount that happens behind the
scenes that helps prevent junk mail from reaching
the list and ensuring that newsgroup users' posts
get to the list promptly, as well as responding to
a broad spectrum of users' requests.

The self-moderation feature (submitters having to
send the "OK" message back to the list) has helped
distribute the work load and controlled junk mail.
We recognize that this places an extra step on users,
but has helped reduce the amount of administrative work.

Thanks!
-Steve
