Dear Jennifer, We have been working with two boards on issues of diversity.
An experienced facilitator can work with your board chair and executive
director to plan a board retreat. At the retreat, which can take place over
a day or less, the board can learn about its responsibilities to service
your diverse audiences. There are activities and techniques that can engage
the board in discussing its composition and representation in thoughtful and
productive ways. After the retreat, action plans based on vision and goals
can follow. Please let me know if we can assist your organization in any
way. If you have any questions, I'd be pleased to have a chat off-line.
