Shannon,

Does your school have a film production class? Then you could assist with
sets for someone who is taking the class and making a film. A good idea to
take film history--half of my undergraduate art history requirement was in
history of cinema. At any rate, read theory, criticism, and find a syllabus
so that you can watch the films that film people know about and these days
rip off endlessly. Finally, call your state government. They probably have an
office that tries to lure production units to various locations. It's good
for business in those towns. Contact the production people and offer your
help. Good luck.
