First you need to identify what you need funding for.  Second, you
     need to identify what sponsors provide funding for your type of
     project.  No one can suggest topics for you -- this is something you
     and your museum need to figure out based on your needs and priorities.

     There is no standard template for "museum" proposals.  Most sponsors
     have their own application procedures.  Once you identify a sponsor
     that funds your type of project you should contact the appropriate
     program officer for guidance on writing your proposal.  Many sponsors
     may even be able to provide you with samples of past funded projects
     that are similar to yours.  As a program officer, I welcome calls from
     institutions that are considering applying to our grants program.  I
     also encourage applicants to submit draft proposals for prereview.

     Finally, good proposal writing skills are not subject specific.  If
     you want to learn how to write a proposal I suggest you look for
     workshops or seminars on the subject.  The Grantsmanship Center is
     one of many organizations that offers classes in proposal writing.

     Hello Everyone,

     I've never written a museum specific proposal before.  Could someone
     suggest the topics that should be covered in this type of proposal or
     point me in the direction of a proposal that I could use as a
     template?
