Our department has Research and Evaluation Interns who must have an
undergraduate degree and some courses in social science research to be
considered. These interns provide a writing sample (on-site) as part
of the interview, and must be familiar with word processing and
spreadsheet programs. We have paid $10 per hour for 20 hours per week
for a 12 week period. I am requesting we increase this to $12 per
hour for 35 hours per week. I doubt all museum interns need these
types of skills, but these folks have to have them to do the job.

I have had really great people in this internship, but they are hard
     to find.

How much should a museum pay for an intern?

As a long-time lurker on this list, I'm delighted to see the several
internship announcements over the past few weeks. I work with Indiana
University's Internship Opportunities Program -- a resource for IU
students searching for a significant internship experience. I'd love to
hear from any list-members who are currently offering internship
experiences, so we can spread the word to our students and hopefully help
rustle up some candidates for you. Thanks in advance...looking forward to
hearing from you!
