Several years back I wrote a technical brief  / review article entitled
"Preserving Your Collection of Film-Based Negatives."  The article is

Though written in 1993, the article is still a useful review of the topic
(however it should be noted that thinking on cold storage equipment /
housing materials has evolved somewhat since that time).
