I agree with Catherine--except . . . as we become more and more like the
businesses our CEOs model their thinking on, the jobs become less and less
satifying.  That is, "On time and on budget" are the only criteria, but there is
neither time, nor budget to assure a good quality visitor experience--which is
the whiz-bang that keeps many of us motivated.   I keep seeing the balance tip
for people and the job they did love or expected to love is "just a job" and the
pay is low.  I'm worried about keeping good people in the field as we adopt more
and more business models.  AND I have problems participating in decisions that
involve part-time employement at wage levels that don't allow people a decent
quality of life.

Welcome back to the world of people who love their jobs so much they would
do them for peanuts! Someone told the finance department. It's also the
reason we lose some really dynamic people to other fields. Sorry to be the
bearer of gloomy news.
