Museum Standards Writer and Researcher
The American Association of Museums, a national association serving
15,000 members, is seeking an individual to coordinate the association's
activities in researching, promoting, and disseminating standards and
best practices for the museum field.  This position is responsible for
primary and secondary research projects on museum standards and
practices, including developing and implementing research methodologies,
evaluating, describing, revising and expanding standards and best
practices in the field.  As a member of AAM's Programs for Museum
Advancement & Excellence team, this position will collaborate with the
Accreditation Program, Museum Assessment and Technical Information
Service as well as other museum and nonprofit service organizations.
Qualifications include: a broad knowledge of current and emerging museum
issues and museum standards, ability to organize large amounts of
information efficiently, manage complex projects; and a proven ability
to communicate with diverse audiences both orally and in writing,
practice of diplomacy and confidentiality.  Qualified candidates must
have an advanced degree and minimum of 5 years of substantial writing
