Multimedia Specialist

2-year Special Projects position to assist the Imaging Department of The
Art Institute of Chicago on several projects in technical, research and
administrative capacities.

Projects include:

1. Porting Cleopatra (an interactive touchscreen museum visitor program) to
the web
2. Developing an image component to the Art Institute's collection
management database and populating it with images.
3. Enhancing the teacher resources and children's sections of the Art
Institute's web site.
4. Creating an "E-Gallery", multimedia presence in the Art Institute's
Architecture Galleries.

Skills and Background Requirements:

Degree in Photography and/or Multimedia.
Four years experience photographing museum objects and/or creating museum
interactives.
Familiarity with Photoshop, HTML, MacOS, Windows, Quicktime VR, digital
photography of works of art, Debabelizer, transparency scanners Word and
Excel.
Knowledge of museum databases.
Excellent oral and written communciation skills.
Very detail oriented.
