Hi, Tanasak. You will receive many conflicting statements on this one!
My feeling is that by following best practices (i.e.. having and holding to
an accession, deaccestion, collections management, visitor and marketing
policy), the museum gains community respect and therefore, their support.
I've seen this happen in a positive and transforming way and also seen the
damage any abridgment of such a policy can cause.
Good luck!
Robin

Subject: Ethics

Dear all,
Could anyone give some advice, answers and ideas on 'How can professional
ethics
raise the standard of museums?', in any aspects?
I can only learn from textbooks because I have no real-life museum
experience, I
would love to hear from all the professionals like yourselves. If you have
some
examples, please share it with me, I will be most grateful.

Thank you very much,
fon
