     Anne:

You might try the George Eastman House in Rochester, NY-former home of
the founder of Kodak, which has incredible archives and conservation
facility. Their web site is :www.eastman.org.

You should also contact the Image Permanence Institute, also in
Rochester, which deals with lots of high-tech stuff involving photos.
They are part of the Rochester Institute of Technology, whose web site
     is: www.rit.edu.

Kodak has a number of excellent publications on care of historic
photographs. You can order them from their web site at: www.kodak.com,
or from your local photographic supplies house.

Thanks, Robin. I'll give him a call. So far, the advice I've gotten has
been really contradictory; the good news is we've been able to put picking
up the collection off until after the first of the year.
