Connecticut River Museum

The museum is located in historic Essex, Connecticut, with two National
Register properties and historic waterfront.  Annual operating budget of
$280,000, staff of five and 20,000 visitors annually.  Knowledgeable board
of trustees; 1,200 members.  This is an AAM-accredited history and maritime
museum with permanent artifact and manuscript collection, 2,000-volume
research library and three or four seasonal exhibits per year.

The successful candidate will have several years of experience in museum or
not-for-profit administration.  Board of trustees seeks an enthusiastic and
able leader who will implement the mission of the museum, speak to the
importance of the Connecticut River valley in New England history and build
a broad base of financial support.
