There was a superb project done here in Toronto by two museology students
who are now both working in the field: Judy Koke (Evaluator, Denver Natural
History Museum) & Sue Pointe (Education Officer, McMichael Canadian Art
Collection, Kleinburg, Ontario). They worked with the Multicultural History
Society, teens at a inner city high school, and seniors in their
neighbourhood. The teens gathered and recorded the histories of these
seniors (all new Canadians) and their experiences coming to Canada. The
result was an exhibition on the MHS and the Royal Ontario Museum. An article
on the project was published on Muse, the journal of the Canadian Museum
Association. It truly one of the best examples of this type of programming
that I've seen. If you're interested in contacting these individuals just
let me know.
