Someone somewhere once quoted an estimate of what it costs to take care of a
museum collection. Was it at a conference? In a magazine? On this list? I
vaguely remember it included personnel costs (from regsistrar to cleaning
staff), security, electricity, storage space, archival supplies, etc. It was a
dollar amount per cubic feet or linear feet or whatever. Does anybody know
this magic number?
