I've a study written in 1995 about museums in Italy: it says:

In 1993 the Musee d'Orsay in Paris gained 52.13 FF (12 US Dollars) for
each visitor selling catalogs and other objects for the exposition
"from Cezanne to Matisse". This is near to the performance of
Metropolitan Museum in NY.

In France the store is profitable if has at least 50000 visitors
