One drawback to volunteers in positions of high responsability, such as
gallery security, is the level of accountability. It is important to stress
the concept that these volunteers are actually 'unpaid staff' and have the
same responsabilities - coming in when scheduled, taking duties seriously
etc., and can be fired or reprimanded.

One solution is to offer minmum wage - a bonus for those who are willing to
work for free - another is to use volunteers to supplement primary and paid
security staff.
