Aloha,
We are currently developing an exhibit about alien species which is
planned to open next Spring. Among the aliens to the Hawaiian Islands we
are considering for display are bees, ants, and termites. There are many
more, but a recent thread on another list regarding bees got me to wondering
if anyone who has displayed them would share some insights with us too.

I'm also interested in ant farms and termite exhibits. We don't have
termite mounds in Hawaii, but we do have voracious Formosan termites that
wreak many millions of dollars of damage every year. Has anyone displayed
termites at work, chewing through lumber to the delight of children and the
consternation of adults? Any thoughts, success or failure stories, and
ideas would be welcomed, on or off list.

Thank you, or as we say in Hawaii: Mahalo!
