The company I worked for has been a major donor to a local museum. We
arranged to have the Christmas Party there this year. Things went very well
- except I, and several co-workers, felt put off because most of the museum
was off limits. They had also offer a camp-in to some girl scouts the same
night. The lesson, to me, was that this type of conflict can produce more
ill will than revenue.
