To the employed museum professional who thinks we students and recent
grads are whining: please don't think of our expression of frustrations at
the job market (and at sky-high tuition for degrees that get us the
credentials needed for most posted jobs), and please don't assume we think
that we're unique in having these frustrations. Everyone in our profession
works (and has worked) hard and with limited resources, and every
reasonable person knows that there are no easy ways out of these problems.
We're all under pressure (perhaps indicated by the flurry of emotional
postings on this very topic?) -- maybe what we're all looking for is
just some support or encouragement from colleagues, regardless of current
situation, experience or career goals.

Here's to professionalism and understanding....
