To echo Jesse, Chocolate World is located in Hershey, PA, adjacent to
Hersheypark and the Hershey Museum. It's very much a tourist attraction
with a ride through a simulation of the chocolate-making process. I
haven't been through it since it was renovated - hopefully they aren't
using large Hershey kisses to represent the workers anymore! The rest of
Chocolate World is food, product sales, and almost every conceivable
souvenir. The Hershey Museum (a nonprofit museum administered by the
Hershey Trust) has a good exhibit on the life of Milton Hershey, founder of
the company.
More interesting (it's fun to do both places in one day) is the Wilbur
Chocolate Factory Outlets Store and Museum in Lititz, PA (north of
Lancaster). It has a two rooms of objects from the company's history (it's
Wilbur Buds predate Hershey Kisses), a good video on the chocolate-making
process, and a space to observe two workers handdipping chocolate. Nice
collection of chocolate pots! And the chocolate smell is real, not piped
in like at Chocolate World!
