Are there international standards/guidelines to which accessioning
activities is performed?

How is the problem of cataloguing museum collections and their archives
reconciled? (Since there are nomenclature guides for museum cataloguing,
but for archives, the information contained (although relevant to the
artefacts/objects) is often of a different nature.)
