Thanks to many correspondents from many different places, following is the
list of translations of the word "Amistad" that I have accumulated.
Corrections or additions would be appreciated (especially where there
appear to be choices, as in Japanese).  Thanks to everyone.

Freundschaft - German

Freyndshaft - Yiddish

Amitié - French (accent over the e)

Venskab - Danish

Vennskap - Norse

Vänskap - Swedish (umlout over first a)

Amicitia - Latin

Amicizia - Italian

Amizade - Portuguese

Olgeta i pren - Pidgin (Neo-Melanesian)

Pilialoha - Hawaiian

Ystävyys - Finnish (umlout over the a)

Vriendschap - Dutch (Flemish)

Draugyste - Lithuanian (letter e in the end of the word has a spot over it)

Draudziba - Latvian (letter i has a dash over it instead of a spot)

Soprus - Estonian (letter o has a tilde ~ over it)

Pokój - Polish (second letter o has an acute over it)

Tình Ban - Vietnamese  (accent grave above the i and a dot below the a)

Druzhba - Russian

Prietenie  - Romanian

Haverut  - Hebrew

Amikeco - Esperanto

Tomodachigai (or You-jyo) - Japanese

Cairdeas - Irish Gaelic

Càirdeas - Scots Gaelic (accent grave above the first letter a)

Cyfaill - Welsh

You yi  - Chinese (Mandarin) an upside down accent circonflex over the o.
"yi" is written with an accent grave over the word.

Amistat  - Catalan

Bara'tsa'g - Hungarian

Philia  - Greek

Latwan laka - Miskito

Ubungani - Zulu, Xhosa and Ndebele

Bungane - Swazi

Bogwera (or sekgotse) - Northern Sotho

Setswalle - Southern Sotho

Xingana (or vungana) - Tsong

Vhukonani (or vhutama) - Venda

Botsalano (or tsalano) - Setswana

Vriendskap - Afrikaans
