The Tech Museum of Innovation
Part-time Positions Available
Guest Services Representatives

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an educational
resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and
experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to inspire young
people to become innovators in developing technologies of the future.

The Guest Services Representative is a front-line contact person for all
guests visiting or inquiring about The Tech, and promotes increased
visitorship by providing outstanding customer service. The Guest Services
Representative is a temporary, part-time, non-exempt position reporting to
the Guest Services Supervisor. Multiple openings are available.

Responsibilities:
-Offer outstanding customer service to potential and actual visitors to the
museum according to established procedures:
-Greet and interact with visitors enthusiastically and proactively.
-Provide general information about The Tech, its programs and exhibits
courteously.
-Handle a large volume of telephone and in-person questions about The Tech.
-Take telephone reservations and record telephone sales for groups and
individuals, using an integrated, computerized system.
-Handle general and group admissions sales at the Admissions Desk and Group
Entrance.
-Direct visitors and handle tickets at entry and exit control points.
-Be knowledgeable of The Tech's mission, programs, and exhibits.  Stay
current with the functioning of the entire institution.
-Work collaboratively with Guest Services staff, other museum staff and
volunteers to provide an efficient and seamless experience for the visitors.
-Maintain high standards in general housekeeping to provide an inviting and
friendly atmosphere.
-In the event of an emergency, assist with all necessary  crisis management.
-Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Enthusiastic, outgoing, reliable and punctual.
Excellent communication skills.
Prior experience in sales or customer service.
Able to be flexible and work in a high pressure environment.
Neat and professional appearance.
Able to work as part of a team.
Computer literate; both Mac and PC a plus.

Hours:  20 hours per week; normal work schedule includes evenings, weekends
and holidays.
