MAGAZINES AND BOOKS IN MUSEOLOGY (GERMAN/ENGLISH)+ GERMAN THESAURI
hello everybody,
I kept this topic in the eMail storager for a longer time, so I regret not to
come up earlier with my remarks. Sorry. But: can anyone tell me, why both Disney
and Gates, just to name the two antichrists of modern museum development,
had/have their own collections? It was, in my opinion, not because they used
their ideas just to finance their hobbies. I think: It was, because they
realized deep in their mind and stomach, that virtuality is nice for some
moments, but reality lasts and refreshes much more and longer. Therefor museums
are the "Lordsiegelbewahrer" of objects, carefully selected and exhibited in
order to make them speak of "text" and "context" - but not in a historistic way,
but, at least, to give hints, how we all could manager our lives better in
present and future.
