JOB VACANCY NOTICE





POSITION:       Project Coordinator, Women in Natural Sciences Expansion Program



CLOSING DATE:  until filled



SALARY:  $23,000 annually plus benefits and two weeks vacation/year



RESPONSIBILITIES:

*       Assist in coordinating two youth programs at the Academy's satellite
research        laboratories

*       Develop and implement natural science-related, hands-on activities

*       Supervise high school research interns

*       Assist with short-term and long-term program evaluations

*       Assist with the development and writing of a program handbook



QUALIFICATIONS:

*       Bachelor's degree in science education or equivalent training

*       Minimum of two years experience working with urban teens

*       Strong background in natural or environmental science

*       Familiarity with current theory and practice in museum and science education
and     gender equity

*       Strong writing skills

*       Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and FileMaker or similar software

*       Valid driver's license and ability to drive 10 passenger van



HOURS:

        35 hours/week, Tuesdays - Saturdays
