POSITION AVAILABLE:  Part-time Curatorial Assistant
                     (Equivalent of 3 days per week)

RESPONSIBILITIES:  Assist registrar in creating and maintaining
                   collections documentation, including applying
                   accession numbers to artifacts, filing catalog
                   cards and photographs, updating collections
                   information in files and on computer database,
                   proofreading collections information.  Maintain
                   collection interpretation manuals in museum
                   exhibition areas.  Inventory artifacts on display
                   and in collections storage.  Assist in placement
                   of artifacts in storage and retrieval from storage
                   areas.

REQUIREMENTS:      High school diploma.  Bachlor's degree with some
                   work in history or museum studies desirable.  High
                   degree of accuracy in dealing with words, numbers,
                   and filing systems.  Legible handwriting, basic
                   typing skills, and working familiarity with personal
                   computer system.  Manual dexterity including the
                   ability to lift and move moderately heavy artifacts.
                   Valid driver's license and availability of car.
