While I don't have any info on workshops, I would suggest that you check
out "Planning for an In-house System" on the CHIN webpage at
http://www.chin.gc.ca/Resources/Collect_Mgnt/e_plan.html (I found lots
of good info on their site).

Some good company websites are:

www.pastime2000.com (very affordable Windows 95 system)
www.questorsys.com (makers of Argus)
www.rediscov.com
www.willo.com (for SNAP! and Multi-MIMSY)
