Dear Matthew,

The Historical Society of Washington DC uses a software system called
Inmagic. It can also hold images.

If you have any questions regarding how it works let me know. They just
got the system about a year ago. (I am the first person to process a
whole collection and put it on the database.) This system is actually a
library database. We are using it to hold both the library and musuem
collections.
