Dear MUSEUM-L readers:

Oxford University Press is pleased to announce that it has become the publisher of the _International Journal of Cultural Property_.

Since 1991 the _International Journal of Cultural Property_ has been the recognized forum for discussion of all questions of cultural property
policy, ethics, preservation, economics, and law.

From the time of its founding, the journal has been committed to an interdisciplinary approach  to the problems of cultural heritage and cultural
property, broadly defined to include such expressions of culture as art, architecture, ritual objects, music, and literature.

Contested claims and conflicting policy and ethical questions concerning
cultural property abound:

Whose culture?
Whose property?
Plunder?
Preservation?
Repatriation?

The journal seeks to reflect this complex of issues and to address the wide variety of interested parties, including national governments,
indigenous peoples, archaeologists, anthropologists, art his-torians, cultural historians, museum professionals, collectors, and others. We invite
you to enter this debate through the pages of the journal.

The _International Journal of Cultural Property_ will be available this spring. Be on the lookout for further announcements and details. In
addition to the journal, Oxford University Press will soon have the _International Journal of Cultural Property_ online as part of its Journal
Awareness service. Be sure to look to Oxford Journals website for more details.
