The Amon Carter Museum is seeking qualified candidates for Collection
Database Manager.  Characteristic duties:  Maintain and expand
collections management system (current Argus for Windows) and database
for over 350,000 objects; serve as liaison between vendor and staff.
Provide system security and access, coordinate on-going conversion
from hard to electronic records and digital images.  Advise on issues
of integration of data between collection and library database, and
Museum website.  Provide daily support and training for users.
Coordinate system changes, hardware needs, software installation,
storage, and backup schedule with Information Systems Manager.
Prepare annual collections management system budget; assist in writing
grant proposals for funding to support collections management system.
Requires BA degree in relevant field, broad background in art history
and cataloguing; knowledge of registration practices and procedures,
database administration, and excellent communication skills;
familiarity with concepts of database design, vocabulary control, and
thesaurus construction in automated systems, World Wide Web and markup
languages, image digitization and electronic copyright issues.
