Over 100 authors from around the world have contributed to the papers to be
presented at Museums and the Web, 1998. If you can't make it to the
meeting, you can still see what's happening in this exciting intersection,
where culture, meets technology, meets museology. Most of the paper are now
online at http://www.archimuse.com/mw98. See the Speakers list for a full
table of contents [but be patient, this list is long!]

And save your comments and questions as you review the papers. On-line
activities inconjunction with Museums and the Web include two discussion
forums, hosted by the Art Museum Network http://www.amn.org/ See the Online
pages of the MW98 website at http://www.archimuse.com/mw98/frame_online.html

We've started threads in the following areas:

* The Web and the Museum *

- to discuss the changing nature of the museum and how it appears on the web

and

* Back End Issues *

-to discuss tools, tricks and strategies for developing and maintaining
museum web sites.

And watch for the announcement of * Beyond Interface: net art and art on
the net * a special exhibition in conjunction with MW98 curated by Steve
Dietz, of Gallery 9 at the Walker Art Center.

There is still time to register for Museums and the Web. Registration forms
are available on line at http://www.archimuse.com/mw98/ and can be faxed in
to confirm your place.

See you in Toronto!
