Wash it down with diluted liquid fabric softener?  This is an old trick to
use with hands and arms before stuffing fiberfill into stuffed animals or
dealing with those pesky packing worms.

Don't know if it would work with the slide, or if it would need
reapplication on a regular basis, but would make area smell good!
