The Museums Council met on Thursday March 26 at Fraunces Tavern. Nearly 70
people came. The exhibition at Fraunces Tavern about New York under the
British was fascinating. Turns out NYC was a British stronghold during the
Revolution, housing garrisons, prisons, weapons, and other supplies for the
troops. Didn't know that...
The next meeting is on May 21 at the Cloisters. Keep your eye on this
list, or contact me off list if you would like to be kept in touch.
We are also testing our Web page, it is at www.nybg.org/mcny. Let me know
what you think. Thanks to The New York Botanical Garden, and specifically
Jill Appel and Tony Kirchgassner from their computer services office for
getting this started. Nothing fancy, but loaded with info (all the staff
of all the member institutions, open hours, upcoming exhibitions, etc.)
