To whom it may concern:

I am an intern at a small historical society who is currently working on
a project at a local one-room school house. The exhibits are in dire need
of being replaced, considering nothing further has been added in
approximately 30 years. What I am most concerned about are the books at
this school house; most of them have covers which are in bad shape, yet
the inside text is actually quite better, with just a bit of foxing
present. My question is this: what is the best way to further care for
them? There is no environmental control possible, with a humid enclosed
space and sunlight exposure. It has been suggested that the book case
simply be enclosed in glass, but it is my opinion that this might not be
the best solution. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
