Apologies for cross-posting

The Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology, Harvard University, is
pleased to announce that it has a recently redesigned web site, with a
fresh, new look, available at http://www.peabody.harvard.edu/.

The site's "On-Line Features" give the virtual visitor a broader sense of
the museum's object, photographic, and archival collections. These include
exhibitions on-line, various finding aids to archival collections, both
photographic and paper, and sites that highlight projects of Harvard's
anthropology faculty and staff of the museum.

The two most recent exhibitions on-line are "The Ethnography of Lewis and
Clark: Native American Objects and the American Quest for Commerce and
Science," <http://www.peabody.harvard.edu/Lewis&Clark> and "Rainmakers from
the Gods: Hopi Katsinam," <http://www.peabody.harvard.edu/katsina> both of
which highlight objects in the Peabody collection, with scholarly text,
many images, and references for further study.

In addition, we have improved the general information aspect of the site,
with more details on how to visit the museum (including directions and a
map), specifics on the museum's holdings and the departments that join
together to maintain those collections, information on how to access the
various collections, and a history of the museum.

The web pages developed in conjunction with the Peabody's conservation
department, <http://www.peabody.harvard.edu/conservation> is the most
comprehensive departmental site.

We hope that you will visit, or revisit, the site, and if you have any
comments or questions, please feel free to contact me. Thank you.
