        The Aspen Historical Society is offering five summer internships for
summer 1998.  To apply please send your resume, cover letter and references

Collections Intern - one position available; intern will inventory,
accession, enter data in database, do basic conservation, and mark objects
in the museum's ski and mining collections.  The intern will also be asked
to do some basic curatorial work on the ski collection.  Housing stipend of
$700/month, vehicle not necessary.  Degree or graduate students in museums
studies and/or history, please apply!

Early childhood Education Intern - one position available, prepare and
coordinate weekly hands-on history program for children six and under on
the grounds of the Wheeler-Stallard House Museum and/or the
Holden-Marolt Museum site.  Housing stipend of $700/month, vehicle not
necessary.  Degree or graduate students in education, interpretation,
museum studies, and/or history who love working with children, please
apply!

Ghost Town Guide/Caretaker Interns - three positions available, "ghost"
interprets historic site to visitors, maintains facilities, runs gift shop,
and lives on-site in a rustic cabin (no electricity or plumbing) at either
Ashcroft or Independence ghost town. Stipend $700/month, vehicle necessary.
Degree or graduate students in history, architecture, interpretation,
geology, tourism, natural resource management, and/or tourism, who enjoy
working with people, please apply!
