Volunteer Services and Special Events (313) 833-3243.  They have 13
auxiliaries and support groups, the largest (Founders Junior Council) runs a
highly successful fund raising event each year called Fash Bash.  It attracts
huge crowds and raises an incredible amount of money for the museums.  While
it is isn't exactly Civil War or historic in theme, the strategies are
fundamental in fund raising.  There are plenty of sponsors contributing to the
event and the volunteer "sales" committee in charge of the event continues to
bring in more.  This "young friends" group is very committed to doing things
to help the museum raise money.
