We are in the process of formulating a new "five-year strategic plan" for
the Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum.

In the past, such documents have been purely for internal use and so format
was of distinctly secondary importance.

However, we anticipate a much broader dissemination of this plan --- via
the internet and more traditional media --- for informational and
fund-raising purposes.

As I have been involved with formulation of similar plans for small
businesses and other non-profits, I have been asked to co-ordinate the
integration of the various departmental plans and formatting the whole for
publication.

Since I am well aware that museums have special requirements in this area,
I would greatly appreciate any help that could be provided by members of
MUSEUM-L. I am particularly interested in any of the following:

1. Copies of strategic plans for your museum.

2. Hints on secondary material (fund-raising guides, etc.) that contain
sample strategic plans for museums.

3. "War stories" on how such plans were generated and used in museums with
which you are familiar.

Thanks!
