In light of the recent Globe & Mail articles (30 Jan,1998) on artists/dealer
relations, VAAA reminds artists and dealers that for all consignments there
should be a written agreement so that both parties know what to expect.  The
agreement is a contract and each party has rights and responsibilities.  For
further information contact the Economic Crime Section of the Edmonton
Police Service 421-3400.

Artists Own Gallery in Jasper has initiated a film night once a month.

The President of the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design, Alice Mansell,
will move to the Technical University of British Columbia.  Ronald Hobbs,
the VP-Finance, will serve as interim president (The Globe & Mail. 9
Jan.1998:A11).
