Heck, *I* like the penny-smashing machines.  Have a nice little collection of
pennies myself.  I've found them to be wonderful little trinkets that, quite
effectively, evoke wonderful memories of the places I've visited.  They are
certainly no more tacky than plastic dinosaurs or
whirly-spinny-glow-in-the-dark pencils.  If a museum considers itself to be
above such plebian souveniers, remind me not to go there.
