Rather than giving credit for each item (which, as was pointed out, might
require a label for the credit where one was not needed for the "story"),
one response would be a "credit panel" or separate label near the exhibit
title label which states, "This exhibit made possible through the generous
support of XYZ Corporation, and donations from, so-and-so, so-and-so, etc.
This would be similar in nature to the credit lines at the end of a
documentary video, "Images from the collections of ..." (if your eyes move
fast enough you might catch your own institution's name, but it would be
hard to identify very many sources).
