Let's hope we've seen the last of the comments on what this word means.
I'd rather read more about what "education" really means in a museum
setting. We know we are transmitting knowledge/information but what are
some of the credible ways of measuring our "educational" effectiveness?
Enthusiastic as we may be about our missions and purposes, in what ways do
we really make a difference in the lives of those who avail themselves of
what we offer? To put it another way, if most of our growing number of
museums were to vanish, who (besides our staffs) would rush to replace our
educational component?
