Katie,

Try The University of Oklahoma Museums(Norman, Oklahoma),
Louisville Museum of Natural History(think that's what it is called),
The Minnesota History Center(St. Paul), Gilcrease Institute(Tulsa, Oklahoma),
Philbrook Art Center(Tulsa, Oklahoma), Walker Art Center(Minneapolis),
and there are so many small community/countymuseums all over the
country that make great efforts to educate utilizing their collections.
AAM also publishes a museums guide that will provide a good listing
of U.S. museums. You should be able to find that in any academic
library. (it may be on the web now too).
