Discussions about tangential issues such as museum visitation are very
interesting, but we've lost the thread - 1)people are unhappy with
salaries; 2) people are not asking the moon (sure, we'd like $100,000/year
but let's be realistic). what exactly are we asking for? 3)how do we go
about getting it?

I noticed a complaint about Museum umbrella organizations like AAM
not being involved. Perhaps if we tell them clearly what we want, and make
reasonable suggestions how to achieve it, something can be done.
