Archaeologists are bound by a strong code of ethics.  Participation in a dig
 often entails signing that code.  Having participated in  many digs around the
 world, the participants I worked with all held to that code and let the site
 director care for artifacts which were uncovered or found.  Join  your local
 archaeological society and you will receive a copy of the code.  This is
 common knowledge!
